Things to Know Before Switching
- If a customer is in arrearages with the utility, the customer is not eligible to participate in the GCC Program until arrearages have been paid in full to the utility.
- A customer may change suppliers one time in any 12-month period at no cost to the customer. A fee of $10.00 will be required for each additional change of supplier within the same 12-month period.
- A customer returning to utility gas service from gas choice service will be required to remain on the utilities GCR rate for the next 12-months.
- No matter who you choose to supply your natural gas, you will continue to call your natural gas utility for outages, emergency service and questions about your service. Your natural gas utility will continue to bill you as they always have. The quality, reliability and maintenance of your natural gas service will not change as it continues to be regulated by the MPSC.
Compare Offers
When shopping for an alternative gas supplier (AGS or Supplier) find your current Mcf/Ccf rate and use that number to compare to other offers listed on this site. Use the charts to compare various offers based on pricing, contract terms or incentives.
Contact an AGS
Contact any AGS that you are interested in and refer to our Questions to Ask the AGS. If interested, the AGS will enroll you and you will not have to contact your utility.
Read the Contract
Make sure you carefully read and understand all of the terms and conditions of your contract. The AGS will be able to answer any questions you may have.
Receive Confirmation
Your AGS will send you a confirmation letter within 7 days of signing your contract to confirm your contract details. If the information is correct, you do not have to do anything. If the information is not correct, contact the AGS and request the switch to be stopped. You have 30 days from contract enrollment to cancel your services with your chosen AGS without penalty.
